What Are The Symptoms Of Stomach Cancer?


Stomach cancer (gastric cancer) begins in cells in the inner layer of the stomach and slowly invades the stomach wall. Stomach cancer usually does not cause any symptoms until the later stages.

Initially, the symptoms of stomach cancer are similar to those caused by a peptic ulcer.

The initial signs of the disease are so vague that they can be confused with other medical conditions such as stomach ulcers, viruses and other gastrointestinal disorders.

The most common symptoms of stomach cancer include:

Bloating after meals,

nausea,

loss of appetite,

recurrent indigestion besides discomfort in the upper or middle part of the abdomen,

diarrhoea or constipation,

sudden weight loss,

blood in the stool or black/tarry stools and

fatigue associated with mild anaemia (a deficiency in red blood cells).


When to seek medical attention

When you experience the symptoms of stomach cancer, it is advisable to report the same immediately to the doctor.

 In case you are pursuing treatment for gastrointestinal but the symptoms don't respond to mediations, it's time to see a doctor.
